We decided this is such a neat place that it needs its own page on our website…just 25-30 minutes drive from The Claiborne House you will find Black Dog Salvage. Quite possibly our favorite place in Roanoke, and without a doubt a cool place to visit for the day.
Where to Eat When you Visit Black Dog Salvage
We have so many recommendations for lunch or dinner when you visit the Dawgs in Roanoke it is hard to choose just one, so we will bold a few of our favorites:
- Firefly Fare – fresh and local – located in the Historic Market Building Downtown – outdoor patio
- Historic City Market Building – located in the heart of downtown, many restaurants under one roof
- POP’s Ice Cream & Soda Bar – don’t miss the grilled cheese sandwiches & great desserts
- Local Roots Restaurant – fresh and local – located in Historic Grandin Village
- On the Rise Bread Company – located in the heart of the downtown Farmers Market – excellent sandwiches, Chicago style pizza and treats – grab a loaf or two of fresh baked bread to take back to your innkeepers
- Tacos Rojas – located across the street – don’t let appearances fool you – great Mexican food
- Taaza Indian – Lunch buffet (around the corner from Local Roots in Grandin Village)
- Lucky Restaurant – tucked away in downtown Roanoke
- Fortunato – down the street from Lucky – amazing Italian cuisine and pizza
- Texas Tavern – smallest and oldest restaurant in Roanoke (hot dog and chili) photo op worthy
- Jack Brown’s Burger & Beer Joint – see the pick-up truck front made into a bar from the Salvage Dawgs (burgers and fries only)
